Console vs. PC Gaming

Gaming has been part of our culture for a long time. Whether you’re a casual gamer who doesn’t like all the competition from most games or a hardcore gamer who enjoys games like Halo, Battlefield,3, and Call of Duty. There have been two platforms for gaming. Console and PC. Both are very different, and many people have their own opinion about which is better. Let’s compare the pros and cons together, shall we?

Let’s start with PC gaming. PC gaming is huge. Over 4 million people are constantly online on Steam, so there are a lot of PC gamers. PC games are also much cheaper. Normally a higher quality game costs only 50 while they are $60. Not only that, there are many exclusive games only on PC. Most of these exclusive offers are only around $20 while delivering quality normally only seen in triple-A titles. PC games also have more value than their console counterparts. Most games have changes made by players that add hours of content to a contest. It could be anything from more weapons to an entire side story added to the game. Older games also tend to get a new paint job over time because players create graphics mods that improve their graphics to make them look more modern. PC gaming also has a better experience. Take Battlefield 3, for example. I have Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360, and it’s great with friends, but when I play it on PC, it’s great. There is constant action that is sometimes missing from the console version. You also have a ton of free games on PC. Recently Planetside 2 was released for PC. It is a sequel to the previous game and gives players a map that makes Battlefield 3 a joke and delivers stunning quality. The PC is also cost-effective, costing about the same as a normal home computer plus a console. If you can make a sale on computer parts or a website that builds gaming PCs, you can even get one for about $700 or less! That’s a lot cheaper than buying a home computer and console since the average home computer costs about $600 and a console about $200 or more. YOU’

Many people prefer a console because it is family-friendly and easy to use. If you are going to buy or use a game console, you need to know what drives a computer. However, with a console, there is completely x installation; it’s just plugged and play; you don’t have to build your laptop with ordered parts or get a bit confused with all the wires of a game console. Many families also use their consoles for more than just video games. With consoles like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 having family-friendly motion games, you see many families utilizing these consoles as a means for the whole family to get together. People also use them as DVD players. Many people prefer to watch a movie on a 42 inch HD TV than a 20-inch monitor. It’s also quite easy to talk to friends while playing a game with them. For PC, the only ways to chat with a friend outside of the game are Skype, Teamspeak, or Ventrillo. Of those three options, only Skype is free, but it tends to take up internet speed depending on how many people are on a Skype call. Xbox Live has a feature that I enjoy: the Xbox Live party. It allows up to 8 people to be in a tiny little chat room where they talk without being in the same game or game lobby. It is a very useful feature if you want to talk to your friends while both of you are playing different games. Consoles also tend to be organized automatically. With a computer, you have to make sure all your icons are in order or have folders to keep what you need, but with a console, everything is set up in sections and tiles so that everything is organized. With the number of exclusive offers on PC, a few exclusive games on console make PC gamers think about buying a console. I prefer the exclusive games on Xbox 360 like Gears of War or Halo. One of my favorite long-term game series is Fable. The first and third are also on PC, but the second is only on Xbox 360. One unknown game was Metro 2033. It’s exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC. It might be on PC, but PC players will tell you that you need a pretty good computer to play that game, so it’s easier to play on the console. A console can be used for both the hard-core gamer and the casual family gamer. The first and third are also on PC, but the second is only on Xbox 360. One unknown game was Metro 2033. It is difficult for someone to choose whether they should get a game console or a console. Tech-savvy people tend to work with a game console because they know what they’re doing and can fix anything that happens. Others are not as tech-sick as consoles that require little to no maintenance and are quick to install. It’s hard to choose which is better, but when you consider how a gaming console will save you money in the long run, a gaming console isawayy to go. You can save a lot more money on a gaming console because games are cheaper, and there are games to play for free. You’ll also save money by not having to buy a home computer when you buy a console. Ultimately, PC is the better choice over the console.
