Video game. Addiction stimulates the brain – but what makes them so addictive?

Video games are designed to entertain players and give them missions to complete during the game. It is normally made to challenge players and allow them to achieve small achievements that urge them to continue playing. Whether small or big achievements, those achievements somehow drive players to keep playing video games. Many factors make playing video games difficult to control and sometimes addictive. These are:

Beat the high score

Trying to beat someone’s high score or even beat his high score can keep him playing the game for hours on end without noticing the time.

Complete missions

There are different missions in each game. And every completed mission is one step closer to achieving or beating the game. The player’s desire to win the game is to complete each task by finding items or hidden clues. These missions keep players playing non-stop to move to the next level.

· Roleplay

Role-playing games the players to have a more direct gaming experience. Players get the chance to create their characters and embark on a unique adventure. Role-playing gives the player a sense of attachment to his character, making it harder to stop playing the game.

· Relationships

In online role-playing games, it is possible to build relationships with another player’s character. Players are forced to keep playing the game to maintain relationships with other characters.
